Autumn Colours and Rowan Trees

An early morning walk across the uppermost parts of Wimbledon Common.  A fine, bright morning with a promise of rain to come on the cool breath of breeze, and sticks of fragile sunlight breaking through to the understory at times.  What struck me most however was the panoply of emerging autumn colours which I’m sure weren’t there a week ago.  The Common seems to have said goodbye to summer already and is busy reversing its wardrobe and preparing for September.
